Manage your licence
When you have a real estate licence, you need to update any details that change within 10 working days of the change occurring. You need to renew your licence every year, complete 20 hours of study and conduct yourself professionally.
Update any details that change
We hold your details on the public register. If anything changes, for example, your contact details, the agency you work for or your eligibility to work in real estate, please tell us within 10 days.

You can update your details in the public register through the licensee portal.
Renew your licence every year
Your real estate licence expires every 12 months. To continue to work in real estate, you need to renew it each year. It is your responsibility to ensure you renew on or before your expiry date. We send a reminder when your licence is due to expire, so please keep your contact details current.

Complete 20 hours of study
You need to complete at least 20 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) each calendar year by 31 December. CPD includes:
- 10 hours of verifiable education on topics set by us and delivered by approved education providers
- 10 hours of non-verifiable education on other topics and types of learning.

Conduct yourself professionally
As a real estate licensee, you need to meet legal and professional standards. You must understand and comply with the Real Estate Agents Act 2008 and follow the Real Estate Agents Act (Professional Conduct and Client Care) Rules 2012 (Code of Conduct) and the professional standards.
If you’re a salesperson, you must be supervised and managed by an agent or branch manager.

Invoices and documents
You can find copies of your invoices, evidence of licence, and other licensing documents when you log into the licensee portal.
When you have logged in, click ‘Documents’ in the top bar, located under the green ribbon. If you are in a different section of the portal you will first need to click ‘Update details’ then select ‘Documents’ in the subheading.
Please note that your invoice will be generated within 24 hours of completing a licensing application.
If you’re looking for documents for a company, click ‘Update Agencies’, select the applicable company, then click ‘Documents’.
After logging in the first time
Use your RealMe username and password.
If you receive a message that says, ‘Oops something is wrong’, please call 0800 367 732. The error message could be because:
- you are using a different RealMe account from the last time you logged in
- you may have used your RealMe login before but not in the REA licensee portal.
